Hi everybody, it’s me, the T1 Xbox360 Tech Support Agent. This is the first time writing here as an agent. Every day when my shift is over I go home thinking about lots of things that happened on a 8 hour job taking calls for gamers in the US and Canada. I know for most of my friends or people I know that have worked in a call center, this is really boring, but the only thing that I could think of to avoid seeing this kinda jobs as the bummer of my life is actually trying to get really in touch with the 40 to 60 people that I talk to EVERY SINGLE DAY. They all have names, birthdays, and hairdos. For many years I always pictured people depending on their voice, but since I started working for XBOX360 Support, making changes on that actually worked on enjoying the job. It is still hard to understand why people think that their logic or whatever makes sense to them is what makes sense to microsoft, starting on that they are purchasing electronic devices that just like every other they are all going to expire. People never read their service contracts before buying stuff and then they feel with the right to call us and try to make a point using a poor judgement. They complain about Xbox Live servers down because they purchased a membership to play online, and because Microsoft improoved the product they will be using, they just can’t simply understand why the server can go down while is having updates. I know, these people, most of them they don’t know a shit about technology. It’s like with cell phones: signal is not god, is not going to be there everywhere for you, it’s in the air, or they live far from the towers and they will have static and not clear conection. You can’t blame the company, it is physic. If you spend 400 USD on a 360 console with a 1 year expiration date, don’t blame anyone but you for being stupid and not knowing how to take care of your stuff. This is not LEGO or Play-doh, this is like a computer, if you can’t afford it why don’t you have fun for free making real friends out in the park? It’s really annoying when some girl calls in regarding to her boyfriend’s console and he actually understands their limited situation, the policies and everything, but she just wants to grab the phone and complain about being ripped off because accessories bundled with the console only have 90day warranty if the system is covered for a whole year. If you can’t agree with this, why did you purchase it? Standing for your boyfriend is not going to make it change. For those who can’t sign on, I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, when my guitar strings break or I had to take my base to get repaired I missed it for a whole week and I was nervous everyday thinking I might loose some of my skills and let my inspiration go if my white Epiphone Thunderbird Limited Edition was not around. But hey, playing my base guitar is my job. I once talked to a guy who was making money out of playing against other people, on a pro gamer community, so, he was pretty smart to know that if one of the 360 would broke, then he would have to purchase a new one in the meantime. And those who complain about not getting refunds for the days the server has been down, on their month to month memberships, they never read the terms and conditions of usage of XBL community before selecting I accept and clicking Done. Their accounts have been hacked and they think that Microsoft is the one to blame. If they keep being suspended for breaking the code of conduct when they don’t think had done nothing wrong, and because the other games don’t like him/her, well, that’s life ! don’t you remember elementary school ? Why don’t you just move some room else or get your own gang to kick people out and avoid being a rejected fuck. You can’t just say you’re going to SUE Microsoft ! It’s like saying if you ever meet the president you’re going to beat the crap out of his face… Come on ! It makes me laugh ! no matter who you are, your lawler is never going to get ANYTHING from these lawlers. Not cause you agreed on not winning, but because you agreed on what were the limits at. I pretty much understand that a 12 year old could feel the world is coming to an end cause he got kicked out of Halo 3 in the middle of something, but if there’s nothing I can do about it, saying “thank you for nothing” is only going to make me laugh and feel sorry about you. Some people would not ever understand that depending on what kind of network you have and the equipment you use is if you’re going to be able to do this or that, you can’t blame a customer service agent for not doing something about engineers not building up a new super router or a cable modem that could assign more than 3 MAC addresses. Gee. What about those who call to complain about people with foreign accents, I mean, really, what is the problem? are you jealous of not speaking more than one language yourself? Do you feel bad about not having the oportunity of expanding your life by moving into a different country and you hate every immigrant because of that? You don’t even finished highschool but you surely can tell that microsoft engineers build and support stuff in a nonsense way. Do you actually live every day of your life complaining on customer service lines about how everything we do suck? One day I heard a guy complaining on the poor security of the internet community, he said he worked for the air forces and they never get hacked. What is these people thinkig of? That we actually have fun with their disgrace? They never think that their problems are as annoying to us as they are to them, because we have to listen to all of their crap. You can really tell, and I mean it, even by talking to them over the phone for 12 minutes, what kind of people they are. I’ve talked to the most kind 6 year old smart asses and the most spoiled mature fat men. The guy driving a truck from sunday to saturday that can’t find the time to send something over to repair wants to blame us for not having a different job that makes him able to receive a box in the mail. Or the kid that once called and would not stop interrupting me, why would you ask questions if you’re not expecting for an answer? He got pissed off with what he called “needing an excuse to make my warranty valid” that in the real world would mean just telling from 5 options, which one matches with the reason for wanting the console repaired, so he randomly picked a reason for sending his box to the service center to get repaired, and could not agree with the fact that if that’s not the problem with the device, technicians would send it back without doing nothing to it. What’s so hard on telling what part broke? Do I sound too much like your mom and you feel like a rebel? It is so funny. :) Oh man one day I had to talk to a guy that said we were not being responsible on our job because we would not make him happy, he said he knew what our job was, so I asked him if he ever worked for the same company and he said no, then told him what my responsabilities and limitations were, and he apologized. I sounded rude and I intimidated him but man, after listening for 10 minutes about the crap we are and the piece of junk he paid 600 dls for, I had no other choice. These people are real kids.
